Health & Safety
- All our instructor staff are trained to relevant National Governing Body standards, and any activity starts with a safety briefing. We have qualified first aid provision for all activities.
- Risk assessments are carried out for each activity, and are reviewed on a regular basis. Copies of risk assessments are available on request.
- Safety equipment is issued for many of our activities, and must be worn at all times. All our equipment is regularly checked and maintained to the highest standard.
- Action Adventure Activities carries Public Liability Insurance up to £5m.
- Action Adventure Activities is based at Easterhill Farm, a working farm. We recommend groups to refer to the farm visit links shown below.
Action Adventure Activities, hereafter referred to as A3 require you to read the following carefully. It will affect your safety & the safety of others. Once you have read it we would like you to initial next to each activity you will be participating in & sign the bottom of the form as an indication that you have read & accept this information.
In booking any of our activities at Action Adventure Activities, the participant accepts there is inherent risk in these activities & accepts that cuts, bruises &minor injuries may be a normal part of participation. A3 takes all reasonable steps to provide you with the level of care & assurance appropriate to our activities. Please note that all of our activities require a moderate level of fitness, though none are particularly strenuous. On booking any activity you will be deemed to have accepted that you are fit enough to participate. All participants accept that they are primarily responsible for their own safety.
If A3 cannot provide an activity due to technical difficulties an equally priced or greater priced activity will be offered in its place.
Many activities involve some personal risk. Participants in any of our activities accept the existence of an element of risk. Life insurance policies vary in their coverage, and some may exclude certain of the activities A3 offer.
Customers accept a level of risk in all activities provided by A3, & accept the company will not be held responsible for any accident or injury to customers or spectators, unless the company is deemed to be specifically negligent.
Customers themselves accept a duty of care to themselves, fellow participants, spectators and staff. Customers will be expected to accept a level of responsibility in that if they have any medical condition whatsoever, or are on any medication whatsoever, it is the responsibility of the customer to seek appropriate advice prior to arrival. Strictly no drugs or alcohol to be brought in to or consumed on our grounds (YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE). If customers may be intoxicated they will be expected to abstain from all activities. A3 reserves the right to breathalyse any customer we feel may be at risk & the company’s decision will be final as to whether a customer can participate or not. No refund shall be given in either of these circumstances.
A3 reserve the right to remove any individual from an activity where it is deemed that individual is creating unacceptable risk to themselves, other customers, spectators or staff.
Waiting time may be necessary with all activities. There is also the possibility of short notice cancellation due to weather, mechanical problems or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. A3 will not be liable for any costs such as travel or accommodation incurred by the participant in such circumstances.
Timescales and format for provision of activities may vary according to technical conditions & group sizes. Whilst we will endeavour to maintain a tight schedule for our customers’ activities delays are possible & we will expect customers to give some leeway as to the length of a particular day’s activities.
We at A3 cannot be held responsible for traffic delays which affect the timely provision of any activities. No guarantee can be made as to availability of any activity on any particular day.
Many activities have height, weight and age restrictions. If a customer is under 18 the consent of a parent/ legal guardian must be provided in writing before commencing any activities.
The operators for any activities which we outsource arrange their own liability insurance which will provide insurance for participants in the case of negligence on behalf of that operator.
All activities are described as accurately as possible, however there may be changes in the exact arrangements on any given day. Any descriptions provided should therefore be taken as a guide only and do not form part of the contract. Any photographs used are illustrative and not necessarily of the actual equipment in use at any particular location.
The customer is liable and accepts responsibility for every person/s in his or her party for damages caused by accident or by reckless behaviour. (DAMAGES TO BE PAID FOR IN FULL).
Protective clothing & equipment issued by A3 must be worn at all times during participation in relevant activities. Participants agree to follow instruction given by staff, knowing that failure to do so will increase risk and may contribute towards an accident.
Many of our activities take place in an ever changing natural environment and whilst A3 carries out regular Risk Assessments there will always remain an element of risk. A3 carries out risk assessments for all activities. Copies are available on request.
In circumstances where A3 staff provide First Aid, participants or their guardians undertake to refer to further expert medical help at the earliest opportunity.
